The Swimming Pool Blues hunt starts today, and I’ve made an exclusive gift for it: a comfy sofa with blue cushions. It contains 8 poses for two avatars, and it’s available for 5L for the next two weeks (the hunt end on the 31 Aug 2012)
Here’s a hint: look! it’s in the swimming pool!
There are some wonderful gifts in the hunt, and you can see then all on the hunt blog. (Please note that all gifts on this hunt are 5L.)
The Homestuff hunt starts today, and I’ve made an exclusive gift for it: a skybox in grayscale. Funnily enough, I’ve called it “Grayscale Living”. Sorry, these past few days have been a bit long 🙂
Anyway…I hope you like it. It’s available for free for the next month. I don’t think it’s difficult to find, but there’s a hint anyway: “Hunting is tiring work…go and have a coffee”
And the subscriber now has a redelivery box, so that if you missed the group gift I sent a while ago, or you’re a new subscriber, you can get it by touching the redelivery tray and following the instructions.
Well, I’ve wanted to run a series of hunts for a while, so here it is….
It’s called the monochrome hunts, and the idea behing it is that each hunt will be based on a monochrome colour palette, and content designers will create an item based on/ inspired by these colours.
The first hunt will run from the 15th August 2012 to the 31st August 2012, and is themed “Swimming Pool Blues”. The picture below is the inspiration picture.
It will feature about 25 stores (I want to start small), and the hunt objects will be 5L$.
The application deadline is the 21st of July 2012.
This is not a first come first serve hunt, because I want to try and build a nice mix of stores, so please do not worry if you do not hear anything back straight away.
I set off to build a simple skybox to get back in the swing of thing, and here’s the result (don’t ask me what took me so long…. it’s a question I ask myself….)
For some reason, I really wanted to build a soothing space with coffee shades. Very summery, I know [shakes head]. Then again, the weather feels like autumn anyway, at least in my part of the world, so it might be quite fitting after all.
And then I decided I was going to add curtains. Yeah. Why not? So there you go: a nice zen space in various shades of coffee, with texture change curtains, with a choice of browns, two teals, and a chartreuse (each curtain can be set separately, so you can of course set them all the same. Or not.)
The curtains between the rooms open and close (simply touch the curtains themselves); the curtains at the windows don’t.
52 prims, approximately 18m X 9m, minimum plot size 512. 150L$.
To access the textures menu:
For the windows curtains, touch the wooden curtain box above the set of triple windows, this will bring up a menu that will allow you to change each curtain separately.
For the curtains that separate the rooms, touch the curtain rail. You will be able to change the left/ right curtain separately.
I’ve been working on stuff (honest!), and I thought it was high time for a group gift. Another version of this skybox will be out shortly (weeellll, at some point….), but I liked the rawness and minimalism of this version, so I thought I’d share it. I hope you like it too.
Footprint: approx. 18m X 10 m, 30 prims, copy and mod.
If you’re a subscriber, and you haven’t received it, let me know, and I’ll resend it your way.
