Beach shack baby

With the warmer weather making an appearance, I’d been on the look out for a nice shabby beach shack, so I was pretty happy when Cheeky Pea released the Coquina Beach Shack last Saturday. It’s not quite shabby enough (I mean that in a good way!), but it’s very lovely, and perfect as a summer hideaway. Room with a view and a pink flamingo.

And I finally managed to tame my inventory (well, the “Buildings” and “Homewares” part)…just in time for the Home & Garden expo

Beach bedroom

What can I say…more seaside modern.

Absolutely love that prefab, even if I couldn’t help myself tinkering with the wall colours (the original colour is a lovely deep red, which I do like…but I really wanted green). It could even be used as a skybox, if you’re really careful and make sure you don’t open the doors, haha…

There’s a roof terrace, too, which I’m not showing…but I love it.

Room with a view

Well, I sold my land. And then I did something I’d always said I’d never do: I bought two 512 parcels. Monthly tier, here we come.

The old land was on water…or, rather more accurately, under water. I did have every intention to buy or build a little island, at some point, but I never got round to it. The new land is on…well, land. With views over water. It’s the view I fell in love with; yes, of course, I know it’s foolish, but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts, and then I’ll get the skyboxes out.

But for now, I searched my inventory for a build that would let me enjoy the scenery, and I remembered Bang Bang Lairs Artist Atelier; this was actually a freebie or a dollarbie at the time I picked it up, a while ago, and I just knew I’d find a spot for it eventually! It’s not a freebie anymore, but it’s available to view in world.

And then the room is a mix of new favourites and old favourites. I think I might even have a few prims left… Oh, what a strange feeling! 😉

Fabulous gifts & freebies round up – August

Yes, I know, it’s not the end of August yet, but I’m going on holiday tomorrow, so I’ll get this in while I can.

Just (just?) rounding up all the wonderful gifts that I’ve come across this month, a lot of them from the SL House & Garden group notices, but one or two from here and there. All in the spirit of attempting to keep my inventory in order. Order is good. 🙂 And I do want to pay some sort of homage to the generosity of creators out there. Yes, yes, I know, it’s business too…but it still feels like Christmas several times over.
